LET’S DO IT AGAIN: If you recall last January we were in the throes of getting ready
to move into our new parish facility. The old church was just a shell with the stained
glass windows removed, light fixtures gone and many of the ecclesiastical appointments
packed away. The parish hall had been transformed into a workshop with a small army
of volunteers painting, reputtying windows and repairing church artifacts; everyone
was “out straight.” Now, with all that behind us and we are preparing to celebrate
our first Christmas in our new surroundings, there is once again a strong interest
in having the children’s Christmas Pageant. As is our custom it will be held in
church at the 10:00 AM Mass on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 4, 2009. Llynne
Kiernan has expressed her willingness to organize it as in years past. If your child/children
would like to be a part of this very special event or if you could give Llynne a
hand, please call her at 728-
A NICE SELECTION: You are invited to take a moment after Mass to pick from a wide variety of Autumn center pieces and wreaths just in time for your Thanksgiving Day entertaining. These items are located in the hallway outside of the Chapel of the Martyrs. A cash box is also there for your convenience.
IT LOOKS SO NICE: This past week improvements were made on the two parking areas (north and south sides of the main circle) in front of our building. This was done to give more stability to those areas before winter sets in and to create a better foundation for the day when these areas can be paved. We sincerely thank Fred Pedersen who donated both his equipment and his time to make these needed improvements. Everyone who uses our facility will benefit as a result.
BRING THEM IN: Yes, we are still accepting redeemable bottles and cans. They can be dropped off anytime outside the garage at the old rectory.
WITH ADVENT JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY: Be sure to have candles for your Advent wreath.
They can be purchased in a boxed set of 4-
